Liability coverage, especially bodily injury insurance, is the foundation of any Florida auto insurance policy. Insurance that pays for damages to your car, namely collision and comprehensive coverage, are optional, but in most cases strongly recommended. Then there are auto insurance endorsements, which are extras that add a little to your premium but could come in very handy in certain situations.

Towing

You can often opt to include towing cover in your auto insurance. This can cover you if your vehicle breaks down and needs to be towed to a repairer. Distance limits will apply.

Glass

This coverage lowers your deductible, or removes it altogether if one or more of your car windows needs to be repaired.

Rental Car

This provision is designed to cover the cost of renting car while your car is being repaired or replaced. This coverage can only be applied if you are also covered for the event that caused your vehicle to need repair or replacement, for example collision or theft. It can be a money-saver if repairs or vehicle replacement takes several weeks but limits also usually apply to the length of time the insurer will pay for a rental vehicle.

These endorsements don’t add too much at all to the cost of your Florida auto insurance premiums, but could save you a handy sum if you need to claim on them. With Southeast Insurance, we’re the agency you can trust to get the coverage you need at an affordable price!
